Language
Language is no problem. You can
always find someone who speaks at least a little English, albeit with
a heavy accent; remember that the Italian language is pronounced
exactly as it is written (many Italians try to speak English as it is
written, with disconcerting results).
Try to master a few phrases for daily use, and familiarize yourself
with the terms you'll need to decipher signs and museum labels. To
get the most out of museums, you'll need English-language guidebooks
to exhibits; look for them in bookstores and on newsstands, as those
sold at the museums are not necessarily the best.
